Registered Nurse ED
Job description
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse to work in the Emergency Department to join our dynamic and fast-paced ED team. In this role, you will provide critical care to patients who present with acute and life-threatening conditions. As an ED Nurse, you will be responsible for triaging patients, administering medications, performing emergency procedures, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care in a timely and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Triage and assess patients based on the severity of their condition.
- Administer medications, intravenous fluids, and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor patient vital signs and report any significant changes.
- Assist in emergency procedures and interventions as needed.
- Provide patient education and emotional support to families and patients.
- Document patient care accurately and in compliance with hospital protocols.
- Collaborate with physicians, technicians, and other health care professionals to develop and implement treatment plans.
- Maintain a calm and efficient approach in high-pressure situations.
Qualifications:
- Current AHPRA
- Triage certificate
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an emergency department or critical care setting.
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications required.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to handle fast-paced, high-stress situations with a calm demeanor.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
Preferred:
- Experience with trauma, paediatrics, or cardiac care in an emergency setting.
