Job description
We are looking for an Aged care Clinical nurse who has strong clinical knowledge in aged care practice. To join our wonderful growing team. With the ability to up skill in this role and grow this is a fantastic role in Meningie.
- The primary function of the Clinical Nurse is to provide oversight of the day-to-day Clinical needs of the Residents of the facility
- The Clinical Nurse is accountable for meeting the Aged Care Standards – Clinical Care delivered.
- Maintain the Board’s policies
- To respect and adhere to the Philosophy of our facility
- The role entails two days of administrative duties and three days of clinical shifts.
Responsibility
- To have a working knowledge and understanding of the requirements of the Department of Health, Local Government and other relevant Departments.
- To ensure that the health, care and social well being of the residents is maintained to a desired standard as per the “Aged Care Quality Standards”.
- To support Nursing and Care staff to achieve optimal resident outcomes.
- To supervise and mentor other staff.
- To maintain AN-ACC Funding documentation within required time frames.
- To ensure Resident Care plans and assessments are current and accurate and reviewed as per schedule or following significant change.
- To be responsible for effective documentation to ensure application for AN-ACC is based on evidence of care needs and care interventions.
- Contribute to the development of policies and procedures relevant to the Home.
- Contribute to Quality initiatives and continuous improvement.
- The Clinical Nurse is responsible for planning & coordination of the staff roster
- Contributes to staff performance appraisals.
- To ensure the home is adequately staffed at all times.
- To ensure admission process is undertaken efficiently and accurately in line with Policy and guidelines.
- To ensure the Health, Safety and Welfare of all staff is in accordance with requirements under the WH&S Act (1986).
- Hold a current Influenza vaccination, that is renewed annually.

Require Skills
- Minimum of 5 years working in the aged care space
- Minimum 2 years working a clinical nurse within the aged care space
- Full working rights
- Has strong clinical knowledge
Desirable skills
- Post-grad certificate in the relevant field
