Team Leader – Family Services, Tennant Creek, NT
We are excited to collaborate with a prominent non-profit organisation in the social services sector to find a dedicated Team Leader – Family Services for their exceptional team in the Northern Territory.
This position is ideal for a clinician with a background in social work, psychology, or counselling, who has management experience and a strong interest in overseeing mental health programmes within the wider community.
Role Overview:
As a Team Leader – Family Services, you will be pivotal in delivering early intervention and preventative services for parents, families, and youth experiencing mental health challenges.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading and integrating multiple programmes to enhance service delivery
- Mentoring and supervising staff while managing complex client cases and providing direct services
- Contributing to the development and implementation of mental health programmes and initiatives, including overseeing major projects
- Managing triage, assessment, and allocation for individual and group therapy sessions
- Utilising evidence-based and trauma-informed practices to deliver culturally appropriate services
- Developing and maintaining collaborative networks with government and community-based agencies and representatives
Essential Requirements:
To succeed in the role of Team Leader – Family Services, you must have:
- A relevant degree with substantial experience or a postgraduate qualification, or an associate diploma with significant experience in a mental health setting.
- At least 2 years of experience in a leadership role.
- Experience in report writing, case management, and staff supervision.
- Demonstrated cultural competency, particularly in working with Indigenous communities.
- Australian citizenship or unrestricted working rights in Australia.
- A valid police check conducted within the last 12 months, or willingness to obtain one.
- A Working with Children Check (WWCC).
