Speech Pathologist
Job description
Our client is looking for an experience Speech Pathologist to join the rural allied health community team on a locum contract for 3 months (with potential to extend).
Start date: ASAP for 3 months.
- Working with the frail aged and people with a disability to maximise independence at home.
- Working with clients, carers and families to provide practical solutions to promote independence and safety at home
- Developing goals and care plans to assist clients to remain at home and active in their local community
- Collaborating with other clinicians in the RAHT team to offer holistic care to clients referred
- Working with a diverse range of clients and health conditions.
- Working across funding streams such as HACC PYP, CHSP & possibly the NDIS (minimal, if any)
- Opportunity to work with Allied Health Assistants to undertake client care programs and equipment trials.
- Primarily home based work with some opportunity for clinic appts
Skills required:
- Adult dysphagia management
- Videofluroscopies
- Augmentative and alternative communication (AAC)
- Community experience
- Experience with range of health conditions incl. progressive neurological disorders
