A fantastic full-time Inpatient Occupational Therapist role has arisen in Western Sydney as follows:

  • Seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Inpatient Occupational Therapist to join a multidisciplinary team.
  • Opportunity to join – pending your experience – at Level 1, 2 or 3. The latter is a senior role positioned to guide and support junior staff in the team.
  • This role involves providing essential rehabilitation services to patients recovering from surgery, illness, or injury, helping them regain independence and improve their daily functioning.
  • Assessing and treating patients admitted to the hospital, developing individualised occupational therapy plans to improve functional independence.
  • Working with patients to address challenges related to activities of daily living (ADLs), mobility, cognitive function, and overall quality of life.
  • Providing therapeutic interventions including ADL training, fine motor exercises, cognitive rehabilitation, and ergonomic assessments.
  • Collaborating with physicians, physiotherapists, nurses, and other health care professionals to create comprehensive care plans.
  • Educating patients and their families about strategies for managing daily tasks and promoting long-term independence.
  • Documenting patient assessments, progress, and treatment plans in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
  • Assisting in discharge planning by ensuring patients are equipped with the necessary skills, equipment, and resources for continued rehabilitation at home or in outpatient settings.
  • Participating in team meetings, clinical rounds, and case discussions to ensure the holistic care of patients.
  • Experience in an inpatient or hospital-based setting is preferred
  • Knowledge and experience in rehabilitation for a variety of conditions, including neurological, stroke, cardiac, cancer and general reconditioning amongst others
  • Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills required
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
