About the role:
Our client who lives and breathes amazing values are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Speech Pathologist to join the team. In this role, you will work with individuals of all ages to assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.
You will collaborate with other health care professionals to develop personalised treatment plans and provide ongoing support to help clients achieve their communication goals.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in speech pathology, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a passion for helping others.
All therapists are responsible in encouraging a positive team culture, where innovation and participation in service improvement in a safe, supportive and efficient environment is advanced.
What would love to hear from people that have the below,
- Qualification in Speech Pathology (Undergraduate or Masters)
- Registration with Speech Pathology Australia and associated Private Indemnity Insurance
- Working with Children Check
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Relevant Post Graduate Diploma in Neurological Rehabilitation
- Experience or interest in Neurological rehabilitation
- Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills
- Experience in working within the disability sector
The key responsibilities and roles of a Speech Pathologist may include:
- Assessing and diagnosing speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders in individuals of all ages.
- Developing personalised treatment plans that target specific communication goals.
- Providing therapy and support to help individuals improve their communication and swallowing abilities.
- Collaborating with other health care professionals, such as doctors, nurses, and occupational therapists, to ensure the best possible care for clients.
- Educating clients, their families, and caregivers about the nature of their disorder and the strategies they can use to improve their communication and swallowing skills.
- Conducting research and staying up-to-date with the latest advances in speech pathology to improve treatment and outcomes for clients.
- Documenting and maintaining accurate records of client progress, treatment plans, and other important information.
- Advocating for the needs of individuals with communication and swallowing disorders in health care and educational settings.
