Job description
The Mental Health Unit at Mildura Base Hospital offers a range of inpatient and community-based services for people with mental illness in the Northern Mallee Region. They promote and provide a work environment that embraces professional development and supports staff to maximize growth through internal and external education.
About the role
The Acute Community Intervention Service (ACIS) is a multidisciplinary team providing assessment, suicide risk response and short-term community follow up for its consumers who are presenting with acute signs of mental illness and/or present with significant risks to themselves or others.

About you
Candidates will have demonstrated experience, skill and / or knowledge in the provision of direct clinical care to people who have experienced mental illness along with a working knowledge of the relevant Mental Health Act and a current drivers licence.
Applicants must meet the necessary criteria outlined for this position.
Essential Criteria
- Approved degree and registration in Nursing, Social work, Psychology or Occupational Therapy
- Demonstrated experience, skill and / or knowledge in the provision of direct clinical care to people
who have experienced mental illness
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of Recovery-based principles
- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills including the use of various computer
programs such as Excel, Word and client management systems
- A commitment to Mental Health & Wellbeing promotion within the community
- Working knowledge of the relevant Mental Health Act and associated regulatory frameworks
WWCC, NPC, Drivers Licence
Desirable
- Relevant degree or post graduate training in Mental Health
- Cert IV in Workplace Training and Assessment or similar
