Experienced Disability Support Worker

Job description

Here at Talent Quarter, we are looking to expand our team of experienced casual Disability Support Workers to provide person centred support to our client base in Wollongong. The purpose of these roles will be to provide personal care assistance to our clients including participating in a range of recreational and educational activities to promote community engagement.

Successful candidates will enjoy a varied role with responsibilities that include;

• Personal care: showering, dressing, grooming and medication assistance
• Social support/transportation for social activities, shopping/groceries and travelling to medical appointments
• Domestic assistance: light household cleaning, laundry and meal preparation
• Supporting customers in the use of aids and personal equipment
• Supporting customers with complex and/or challenging needs
• Monitoring the well-being of customers and reporting on progress

Requirements/Qualifications:

• NDIS Worker Screening Clearance / Criminal Record Check
• Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination
• Current First Aid certificate/CPR
• Current Australian Drivers License
• Working with Children’s check
• NDIS workers check
• Reliable, registered, and insured vehicle
• Certificate III or IV in Aged Care, Home & Community Care, Individual Support or Disability Services (desirable)

About You:

• Caring, compassionate and friendly
• Sound verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build strong trustworthy working relationships
• Comfortable using technology to access rosters, record customer notes and feedback
• Proven experience in similar roles
• Available to work various shifts with flexibility for short term/urgent cover
