Correctional Nurses

About the role :
As a correctional nurse, your role is to provide healthcare services to inmates in correctional facilities, including prisons, jails, and juvenile detention centres. Enjoy being able to establish trusting bonds with all parties involved and assist patients in understanding their conditions, treatments, and preventative measures.
As a Correctional nurse, your responsibilities will include:
- As a correctional nurse, you will be responsible for assessing and triaging inmate healthcare needs,
- Ability to conduct physical assessments, collecting medical histories,
- identifying potential health concerns.
- be prepared to provide emergency care in the event of a medical emergency or critical incident, such as a suicide attempt, overdose, or assault.
- You will be responsible for administering medications and treatments as prescribed by the facility’s medical provider or as ordered by a physician.
- Have responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records for each inmate, including documenting medications, treatments, and healthcare interventions.
What we require from you:
- APHRA registration
- Minimum 12 month’s experience in nursing
- Flexibility to work full time across shift work.
- Complete COVID Vaccinations & 2022 Flu Vaccination,
- Serology evidence of immunisation status
- Current National Police Check (within months)
- Driver Licence
- WWCC
- Ability to pass through Background and integrity checks
