You will have access to 24/7 registrar support provided by a diverse cohort of accredited and unaccredited registrars. This support system allows you to deliver optimal patient care while fostering a collaborative and stimulating work environment.
As an O&G Consultant, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive and compassionate care to a diverse patient population.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting consultations, assessments, and examinations for expectant mothers
- Managing high-risk pregnancies and complex cases with the support of a dedicated team
- Performing deliveries and surgical interventions as necessary
- Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings and contributing to the development of best practice guidelines
- Mentoring and guiding junior staff members, including registrars, to foster their professional growth
The hospital believes in promoting work-life balance for their valued team members. The on-call arrangement for O&G Consultants is structured at 1:4, typically consisting of one night per week and every fourth weekend. This arrangement ensures that you have ample time for personal pursuits while still providing high-quality care to patients.
There is a close relationship with the University of Newcastle Department of Rural Health with teaching to students in Year 3-5 of the Joint Medical Program. Appointment as a conjoint academic is encouraged (level commensurate with qualifications and experience).

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive and stimulating environment, surrounded by talented professionals who are dedicated to providing outstanding care.
You will work in a vibrant town located in New South Wales, situated on the banks of the Manning River and surrounded by picturesque countryside. The town offers a wonderful blend of natural beauty, rich history, and a friendly community atmosphere.
