Community Midwife – WA
Permanent Role
Full Time – 75 hours per fortnight

As a Community Midwife, you’ll play a crucial role in:

  • Collaborating closely with pregnant Aboriginal women and mothers using a caseload approach to deliver comprehensive visiting services, supporting them and their children (up to two years old) in homes or community setting
  • Establishing trusting relationships through sensitive and culturally appropriate approaches to care
  • Working in with maternal and child health personnel, including local Aboriginal Family Support/Partnership Workers

What You Need:

  • Registered Nurse with a minimum 3 years’ relevant clinical experience
  • AHPRA registration
  • Driving Licence for flexibility and reach
  • Cultural competency-bridging gaps with empathy and understanding
  • Demonstrated competencies in caring for Aboriginal children and their families

Desirable Criteria:

  • Dual registration in midwifery and/or qualifications in child health and development
  • Previous experience working within an Aboriginal Community
