The Client:

As part of their commitment to excellence, we are now seeking a Clinical Coder to join their dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Clinical Coder you will play a crucial role in the healthcare delivery system. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Coding on Inpatient Episodes: Accurately assign diagnostic codes, procedural codes, and other relevant information to inpatient medical records in compliance with coding guidelines and regulations.
  2. Regular Coding Audits: Conduct routine coding audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with coding standards. Identify and rectify coding discrepancies as needed.
  3. Quality Improvement: Collaborate with the quality improvement team to enhance coding processes and contribute to the overall quality of patient care.
  4. Liaising with Clinicians: Work closely with clinicians and other healthcare professionals to clarify diagnoses, procedures, and other medical information as necessary to ensure accurate coding.
  5. Collaboration with Other Departments: Communicate effectively with various hospital departments to obtain the information needed for coding, as well as to address any coding-related inquiries or concerns.

Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Certification in Clinical Coding or a related field.
  • Knowledge of ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS clinical coding.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Proficiency in using coding software and electronic health records systems.
