Aged Care Nurse

About the role :
An aged care nurse is responsible for providing physical and emotional support to elderly individuals who need assistance with daily activities. This includes helping with personal hygiene, mobility, medication management, and meal preparation. Aged Care nurses also monitor their client’s health and wellbeing, report any changes in their condition to healthcare professionals, and assist with rehabilitation programs. In addition to providing physical care, Aged Care nurses also provide emotional support, companionship, and social engagement to help improve their clients’ quality of life. The work is often challenging but also very rewarding, as Aged Care nurses have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of their clients. Aged Care nurses typically work in a variety of settings, including residential aged care facilities, community care, and in-home care.
As a Aged care Nurse , your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with personal care such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Providing mobility assistance and helping clients with exercises
- Administering medication and monitoring health conditions
- Preparing and serving meals, and assisting with feeding as needed
- Assisting with household tasks such as cleaning and laundry
- Providing emotional support and companionship
- Monitoring and reporting changes in clients’ physical and mental health
- Communicating with healthcare professionals, family members, and other caregivers
- Developing and implementing care plans tailored to each client’s needs
- Participating in ongoing professional development and training to maintain and improve skills.
What we require from you:
- APHRA registration
- Flexibility to work full time across shift work.
- Complete required vaccinations,
- Serology evidence of immunisation status
- NDIS & NPC (within 12months)
